Common questions
Stock, bundles as products, pictures, several bundles on a page, and what the plugin works with.
-
How is stock handled?
A bundle has no stock of its own. The product with the least stock (for the quantity the bundle needs) decides how many bundles can be sold. Stock is taken from the products inside when an order is paid, and put back on cancellation or a restocking refund, by WooCommerce itself. Overselling is stopped at add to cart, in the cart and at checkout.
-
Is a bundle a product in my shop?
Every bundle is a WooCommerce product underneath; that is how it goes in the cart and takes stock from its products. By default it isn’t listed in the shop, categories, search or sitemap, and its own link sends shoppers to the product page that offers it. To list bundles like other products, see Where your bundle shows.
-
Where do I edit a bundle’s products and price?
In Bundles: click the bundle’s name. The WooCommerce product screen still edits the title, images, description and tax class.
-
Can I change a bundle’s kind?
While it is a draft, yes: click Change type under its name. The products stay; settings that don’t fit the new kind are dropped. Once published, its orders and reports belong to that kind, so it stays one: create a new bundle (or duplicate it) to sell a different kind.
-
What products can go in a bundle?
Simple products (physical, virtual or downloadable: customers get their downloads as usual) and variable products, with a set option or the customer’s choice. Subscription products (WooCommerce Subscriptions) can’t go in a bundle yet, because their renewals would not be billed correctly; the editor says so.
-
Does it work with my checkout?
Yes: the classic cart and checkout, the Cart and Checkout blocks, and checkouts built on WooCommerce’s checkout or Store API. Your payment methods, taxes, shipping and coupons work as usual. It supports HPOS (high-performance order storage).
-
What happens to bundles when I update the plugin?
Updates keep your bundles, settings and orders as they are. Nothing needs to be set up again.
